Bear Claw Lodge is an honest-to-goodness family-run lodge. The Allen Family has called the Kispiox Valley home for five generations and couldn’t be happier to share it with you. For them, it’s truly personal and they wouldn’t have it any other way.
Our family: It’s normal for Gene to pick you up at the airport, Joy to greet you at the front door, and Kaleigh to cook up an amazing meal. You’ll find Jim running the fishing and rafting program and Shannon working on environmental programs and community initiatives. Unsurprisngly, you’ll see them all doing a little bit of everything else to make sure your stay in their home is one you won’t soon forget.
Designed by Dave Nash (Kispiox Valley resident and family) and built in 2003 by local contractors, Bear Claw tries to encompass the Pioneer and Indigenous history of the Kispiox area and Gitxsan territory on which it was built. Bear Claw is the perfect hiding place, that's why the Allens have been there for 5 generations.
Bear Claw Lodge offers everything you need to enjoy your stay. From the kitchen, to the guiding, to some of the most unique and warm hospitality you will ever find; Bear Claw's family and team are truly what make this place so uniquely special.
You’ll come to realize there are a lot of things that make Bear Claw Lodge different. But, above all, what makes it so special is that strangers quickly become friends, and everyone is treated like family.
